I don't really feel like watching a lot of anime this season. The Price of Smiles is a decent real robot series though. I think it has potential a couple of episodes in.
avatar
The philosophical ramifications of whether or not a female baby of a (practically) all male species should be forced to have gender surgery probably triggerred them to all oblivion.
avatar
I started watching the Orville, despite being a casual Star Trek fan at best. It's obvious by the third episode why the critics crucified it kek.

Fuck squirm. Tha'ts checkmate. Everythingi n the papers is ground for investors to vote no confidence and boot his ass from his own company
avatar
The Randy Pitchford drama is fucking delicious. I don't even care if the allegations are true, I just enjoy watching him squirm.

Atlus seems overly hesitant to get on PC. As it's an old title, it's less likely to sell than a new title, thus giving them a reason to avoid PC in the future if it sells poorly enough.
avatar
Also Catherine Vanilla, under the title, "Catherine Classic" is out on PC via Steam.
avatar
So Catherine Full Body's Japanese PSN Demo is up for PS4. Also the west will not be getting the Vita version of the game; only the PS4 version.
avatar
No kidding. The only time you see this much projection is when people have something to hide.
avatar
I wonder how many people that reviewer has raped

https://twitter.com/appabend/status/1083468986845515776 That's one way to review a controversial episode

I am unaware of their quality, but I think Crunchyroll does dub stuff now.
avatar
Well I figured it'd be Funimation, but the articles don't specifically mention them. They say it was announced and will be aired on Crunchyroll, but Funi and CR split didn't they? Does that mean CR is in charge of the dubbing? Oh christ.
avatar
Who's dubbing it? I expect the dub to be filled with memes and pop culture references if it's being dubbed by Funimation. They're basically the NISA of the dubbing industry at this point.
avatar
Apparently Konosuba is just now getting an English dub. Highly doubt any of the charm the Japanese VAs gave it will be held up by the English cast.

Remember when people talked about anime without shoving their shitty politics in your face?
avatar
https://twitter.com/Leo13007/status/1082247295813312512 Eh, ANN complaining about it might be a sign of it being as big as the GS controversy. Though, the determining factor is probably if some anime youtuber complains about the anime like with GS. I only wish shield hero aired last season when the Kavanaugh thing was more fresh.
avatar
As terrible as Emiya Alter art is, black face never came to mind at all.

avatar
The Shield Hero anime controversy has begun. Will it get as big as Goblin Slayer's or flicker and die out?
avatar
It won't stick anyway. Too jewish.
avatar
He wasn't directly accused of sexual assault, but he was accused for hiring people onto his campaign whom they accuse of sexual assault. Sexual assault by proxy is one weird accusation, I must admit.
avatar
>Even Bernie Sanders gets #Metoo accusations Hah!
avatar
The animation and art direction was great, though. It really has that 'animated comic book' look down. Too bad they made Gwen look like a Fortnite tumblr dyke, though; and King Pin is waaaaaaaaay bigger than his comic book incarnations to the point where he looked a bit out of place. Other than that, the character designs were fine. Overall the movie was solid. If you like Spider-Man or capeshit in general, it's worth a watch, I think.
avatar
I saw Spiderverse yesterday too. Honestly, the movie should've just had Old Peter and Miles. The other Spider-people barely do anything in the movie, aside from a couple of fights and some gags. They don't even stick around for the final battle. Miles and Old Peter were the main focus of the movie, and they had the best character interactions overall. Also King Ping is kind of a pathetic cuck in the movie. His motive comes down to, "My family left me because they found out I'm murderous crime boss, so I'm gonna kidnap alternate universe versions of them to replace them. Also I blame Spider-Man for some reason and want him dead for getting in my way."
avatar
Typing on phones is fucking awful. Just self-aware enough to be enjoyably cheesy. The main complaint is just how insufferably lengthy it is. It's way too goddamned long.
avatar
I saw Aquaman. "Decent" is the best praise I cam give it. The romance is laughable and the female lead can't act for shit, but the CGI is amazing, it's got pretty good action scenes, and it's just self-aware enough to hit tjr
avatar
Oh, I watched Spiderverse with my family. It was a decent Spiderman origin story with great animation. Main villain and his motivations were shit, but Old Man Peter Parker and Miles Morales were fun. Penny Parker was cool, but more or less almost entirely a side character like Spider-Ham and Spiderman Noir. Spider Gwen was okay too, I guess.
avatar
From what I hear, despite some bad parts, Aquaman was decent.
avatar
Happy New Year.
avatar
I almost want to blame the whole template on Zack Snyder but it's hard to say just how much influence he had over the script and direction. It was bad.
avatar
They really should. I avoided all the press and buzz and the movie is genuinely atrocious. And sets out to make Batman, Aquaman, and Superman to be the biggest who-gives-a-fuck pricks in the entirety of capedom.
avatar
They should just get Bruce Timm and Paul Dini (DC Animated Universe writers) to write the DC live action movies.
avatar
It's not very new at all. It was the last DC failure before Aquaman.
avatar
is that some new capeshit movie or something?
avatar
I heard it was a mess
avatar
Wow did Justice League suck.

I hope everybody had a good Christmas (and remembered to read some Christmas-themed doujins)

character licensing maybe??

probably 2lewd

The first Digimon Cyber Sleuth got yanked off the NA PSN store. Nobody knows why.

They're all already compromised.
avatar
Cowboy Bebop, Avatar, and there are no more long-running series
avatar
I never got into Doctor Who, but apparently, it became a trash heap when feminism got involved, no surprise there. I wonder which long running franchise is next!
avatar
Why not?
avatar
Why would I pay an organisation to lie about me?
avatar
I hope NISA does get it, that would be hilarious. It's PS4 exclusive so it's going to be ruined by censorship anyway.
avatar
I highly doubt Falcom would NISA another chance given how they failed spectacularly to meet their end of the deal and almost destroyed the western reputation of Ys in the process. Since XSEED still can't produce a translation in the kind of timeframe Falcom wants (in fact they just lost a bunch of key personnel -- hiring XSEED would delay the western release by several years) we should expect it to go to an entirely new partner.
avatar
Ys IX has been announced. Once upon a time, I would have been excited, but NISA...
avatar
Checked just because, but it's obvious from the first sentence that they didn't.
avatar
Did they fix the GG article yet? I don't care if they die if they are just going to allow lies.

Maybe it's just me, but Wikipedia seems to be getting really, really desperate. https://imgur.com/a/lL1Qk3u

And they only made us wait a year and a half for another map.

A week late but I'm excited for MHW:Iceborne (I think). I mean, it will have an ice map (maybe).
avatar
If you guys want more posts here, just post. If there's nothing to post then it's OK. lol
avatar
To be honest, despite having like 100 games on there (I think) I wouldn't be sad to see Steam go. Besides, I could always repirate everything.
avatar
In theory even uncensored PC versions of Senran Kagura, many Idea Factory games, etc. could be off the table now.
avatar
https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2018/12/va...dev/73665/ -- Valve game bans are clarified to be over "exploitation of minors", which apparently is not necessarily sex or nudity but can also apply to *any* game that features suggestive themes in a school setting. I fully expect dozens of games to get mass-reported off the platform by regressives now that this is an established thing.

people still post here, but we only post off and on, it seems.

i miss the time when people posted here
